Project 1

I was inspired by Christophe Josse’s take on classic femininity. His Haute Couture Spring ’13 collection was monochromatic and minimalistic. The gowns were structured but flowed off the body. The collection was inspired by the streets of Japan and it’s architecture.

I was inspired by the cut of his dresses as well as the textures. I have created a dress that is effortless with strong detail. The dress is an A-line shift dress with an open back and soft layers. I used market bags for the underdress and on top I layered toilet seat covers. The fell stitch and whip stitch were the stitches used in making this dress.
